Hi, there! I am currently a PhD student at the Institute of Scientific Computing, TU Dresden. My Research involves mathematically modelling collection of cells or Tissues using Partial Differential Equations.

Academic Career

I obtained my Integrated Bachelors and Masters of Science in Mathematics in 2017 from the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata with a INSPIRE-SHE Scholarship. My masters thesis was supervised by Associate Professor Dr. Kuntal Ghosh, Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata.

At that point in my career I wanted to do something more applied, hence I joined a Erusmus Mundus, Engineering Mathematics Masters program called Mathmods, jointly organised by University of L’aquila, Italy and University of Hamburg, Germany. My masters thesis was supervised by Professor Dr. Nicola Guglielmi from the Gran Sasso Research Institute, L’aquila. I graduated my second masters in December 2020. Due to the pandemic and other personal reasons I took a break from my career for about a year or so.

I joined Institute of Scientific Computing, TU Dresden in September 2021 to work with Jun. Prof. Dr. Markus Schmidtchen on ‘Systems of Interacting Species’.

Extracurriculars

When I am not busy with academics, I like to engage in physical sports like football, swimming, hiking and table tennis. I am a huge fan of Linux, LaTeX, nvim and opensource tech in general. I also enjoy reading books, making maths exposition videos on YouTube and occasionally dabble in the stock market!
